Daniel Courjon is a physicist who has carried out his activity in the field of optics and electromagnetism. His fields or research have been partial coherence in imaging systems, superresolution, high resolution microscopy and finally near-field optics and near-field microscopy. He has been one of the pioneers in optical tunnelling. Researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) he ended his career as “directeur de recherche classe exceptionnelle”., During the last years of activity he has benne the local representative of the French minister of research and the representative of the CNRS in Franche-Comté and Burgundy. He is presently a regional consillor on behalf of the three principal organism of french research (CNRS, INRA, INSERM).
He received several awards for his scientific activity among which, the silver medal of the CNRS.
